  1. Just so you know, the victim on pg. 12 of the “954-23-11 California-Marin County and Others_Redacted” pdf has been identified as Arminda Ribeiro 🙂

I’m wondering, how are you able to receive so many files from both King County Archives as well as elsewhere, especially various police departments? I’ve submitted quite a few Public Records Act requests and so far everything I’ve asked for has been exempt from disclosure, so I’m wondering if I’m somehow going about it all wrong? Is there any specific way you go about asking the various PDs and sheriff’s offices for information?? Thank you in advance for your response, and thank you for all your hard work, it’s been very helpful!!

    1. Thanks for this question Elizabeth. I’ve tried to get access to similar records in Colorado without success.

    2. I love that you found me, thank you. So I got REALLY lucky in a few instances, I found a HUGE file from Pitkin County on Archives.org, then when I went to Seattle in May 2025 I reached out to King County because I wanted to go into their archives and see everything. They said, “well, you can come in… Or we have this giant Dropbox file we can send you that has everything pretty much in it.” I have definitely gotten lucky with some other FOIA requests, but everything has mostly fallen into my lap out of pure luck.

      1. (Thought I replied, sorry about that!)
Thank you so much for this! If you don’t mind, I’ve downloaded and made available some of these documents on my own blog (with credit of course!) especially under the “Unsolved Female Homicides” section of the Files page 🙂 and if you ever find anything else available concerning crimes in CA, please feel free to let me know, as i’m having tough luck with it rn lol! Is there any specific wording you use when you’re submitting a request? I always try to be as respectful and formal as possible of course, but I wonder if part of it could be my wording or tone. Either way, thank you!!!

      2. I’ve written about a few young women from California over the years, Cindy Mellin, Christine Eastin, and Cheri Bates are just a few… We should get together and talk soon, maybe we can co-write an article together.

      3. Yes I’ve seen those, very well done!! I’ve also written about some cases from CO, WA, and OR, and have plenty on my list to get to, but the only one I’ve posted about so far that strikes me as even potentially similar to Bundy is that of Connie Paris in 1968: https://cacoldcases.blogspot.com/2025/08/the-murder-of-constance-marie-connie.html

I would love to join up! Unfortunately I’m actually leaving the country for a few months next week, but if you’d like I can contact you on your email to start getting a conversation going; I also have Reddit. Whichever works best for you 🙂
